Paver Sealing in Port Richey
Port Richey sits right on the Gulf Coast, with older mid-century neighborhoods, a coastal downtown, and homes that have been battling salt air and humidity for decades. The combination of Gulf moisture, intense Florida UV, and mature landscaping breaks down paver sealers faster here than almost anywhere else in the Tampa Bay area.
Most pavers in Port Richey have either never been sealed or carry an old acrylic coating that has gone milky, peeled, or started lifting off the surface. Organic growth — algae, mold, and mildew — takes hold fast in the shaded and humid areas between driveways and pool decks. Joint sand washes out with every heavy rainstorm, leaving pavers loose and weed-prone.
Xcel Paver Sealing services Port Richey and Pasco County regularly. We know the older home stock here, the narrow coastal lots, and the Gulf exposure, and we carry Ure-Seal H₂O — a professional-grade Florida-made urethane sealer that bonds properly to weathered and aging pavers where basic acrylic coatings fail.

Common Paver Problems We See in Port Richey
UV fading and color loss from years of direct Gulf-coast sun exposure, failed acrylic sealers that have turned white or milky and are lifting off the surface, algae and mold growth on shaded driveways and pool decks, efflorescence on older brick and concrete pavers near the waterfront, joint sand washout from heavy storm runoff, and rust and mineral staining on pavers near irrigation systems drawing from Florida's iron-rich groundwater.

Frequently asked questions
Why have my brick pavers turned white?
The pavers themselves have not turned white. The white haze that you see is trapped moisture or condensation under the sealer. When properly sealed, this will not happen. The original sealing was done with a sealer that is not breathable. To correct this issue a paver restoration must be done to remove the old failed sealer.
Do I need to replace the sand around my pavers?
In some cases yes. Re Sanding is not always necessary though. The sand should be at least 1/8 inch below the chamfer edge of the brick. Our sealing does a great job of locking in the sand so that it does not easily wash out.
How long should I wait before sealing my new pavers?
Typically 60-90 days. The main reason to wait is so that efflorescence can work its way to the surface and be cleaned off. The more the pavers get wet, the quicker this happens. For this reason, the amount of time to wait may vary depending on what time of the year it is.
Why should I seal my driveway?
Sealing your driveway is important to protect it from staining from such things as vehicles, birds, fertilizers, and water runoff. Not to mention that it “Looks Great.”
How long does it take before I can safely use my pool deck after the sealing process is complete?
You can safely put your furniture back and swim in your pool the following day. Please allow extra time for travertine pool decks.
